WHY GRAVEL 58
The Ghost Gravel 58 is a deep carbon gravel wheelset for riders who carry speed across smooth gravel, hardpack and paved connectors. Its 58mm depth and broad 35mm internal platform are shaped around fast mixed-surface routes rather than technical, loose-terrain riding.
Volume and speed as one system: The 35mm internal and 42mm external rim platform supports the larger-volume tyres used for fast gravel. Combined with the 58mm depth, it brings aerodynamic intent to open roads while retaining the tyre support needed when the surface changes.
Built around the terrain: The 142mm TOCCAY hub platform uses Centerlock braking and is offered with Shimano HG or SRAM XDR freehubs. The build is configured around modern gravel drivetrains and mixed-surface use.
Best suited to: fast gravel, hardpack, long mixed-surface events and routes with substantial paved connectors. Riders focused on exposed gusts or highly technical loose terrain may prefer a shallower wheel.
The TOCCAY Ghost Gravel 58 is a 58mm carbon gravel wheelset for fast mixed-surface riding across smooth gravel, hardpack and paved connectors. Its verified build uses a 58mm rim depth, 35mm internal and 42mm external width, a listed 1400g wheelset weight, Centerlock disc interface, Shimano HG or SRAM XDR freehub options, and a clincher or tubeless-ready setup.
Choose this deep-section gravel wheelset when carrying speed across faster, smoother surfaces matters more than optimizing for highly technical loose terrain. Before ordering, confirm tire-manufacturer rim-width approval, actual mounted tire width, frame and fork clearance, freehub, axle and rotor compatibility.
Read the gravel rim width and tire size guide, compare 700c vs 650b gravel wheels, or browse the TOCCAY carbon gravel wheel collection.
Built for riders carrying speed across smooth gravel, hardpack and paved connectors.
The verified rim measures 35mm internally and 42mm externally for modern gravel tire setups. Confirm each tire maker's approved rim-width range and actual mounted clearance.
Best suited to faster, smoother gravel rather than highly technical loose terrain.
Not for every gravel route. A 58mm wheelset can suit faster, smoother gravel, hardpack and paved connectors, while riders prioritizing highly technical loose terrain or calmer steering in strong gusts may prefer a shallower option.
Crosswind response depends on wind angle, rider weight, speed, rim profile and bike setup. A deeper rim can require more steering input in gusts, so choose it for your normal conditions and handling confidence.
There is no universal tire-width answer. Confirm that the tire manufacturer approves the exact tire for a 35mm internal rim, then check actual mounted width plus frame and fork clearance.
Yes. The current Ghost Gravel 58 listing specifies a clincher or tubeless-ready setup. Use compatible tires, valves, tape and sealant, and follow the relevant pressure limits.
Choose Shimano HG or SRAM XDR according to the exact cassette specification. Confirm the cassette model before ordering rather than deciding from speed count alone.
It is positioned for fast mixed-surface riding, smooth gravel, hardpack and paved connectors. Riders whose routes are predominantly highly technical, loose or strongly exposed may prefer a shallower or differently focused wheelset.

The wheels look fantastic on the bike and feel even better on the road. They’re fast, responsive and surprisingly stable on rough gravel. Once up to speed, they hold momentum really well without feeling harsh or difficult to control. Build quality has also been excellent so far. Very happy with the upgrade.
The logo is stunning, and the 58mm rim depth is very appealing; I didn't feel any wind resistance while riding, so I think buying the Toccay is definitely worth it.
